Steinway Square Grand
$39,700.00
1877 Steinway Square Grand #35275 is part of a wild story about Steinway, a twin, and decimation. Steinway New York, had moved into the market of square grand pianos and shortly after manufacture decided that the design and quality did NOT meet their expectation. They spent the next several years destroying the square grand pianos that had not been sold. Rumor was they had burned many of these instruments to heat the factory. However, these unique pianos were the beginning of an era where Steinway installed the metal plate.
Here in Salem, Oregon the owners of this piano also owned a second Steinway Square grand piano and they were referred to as “The twins”. Experienced Piano Technician Matt Hirschfelder has had the privilege of tuning these two specialized square heirloom pianos side by side for years.
